That is what I hear from the folks after tonight's dessert.

Apple dumplings from the Pioneer Woman, a cooking blog that
rosesarered23 got me hooked on. Wonderful recipes with lots of wit and photos. I stumbled on this recipe and decided to make it tonight.
Mind you, Mom was in the kitchen making her own dinner and I was doing a 'lying by ommission' running commentary [I didn't mention they included two sticks of butter]. I already poured the sauce over and then I said, "Now for the kicker: one cup of Mountain Dew."
Mom: Hm?
I repeat the statement.
Mom: Oh? Let me have some also. I would like to have a cup.
Me: o.o?? O-kay...
Anywho, they came out fabulous. Mom thought they were too rich, and she was right. I mean, two sticks of butter? Paula Dean would be pleased.
I mean look at them!

Wait a tick, something is missing.

There we go.

Ugh, this is confusing.
Alright, my latest project is a lap blanket/baby blanket out of the Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool that I have been buying a skien at a time [I know, there's plenty of yarns out there, but dangit, I like this one. It's strangely compelling to me. Maybe it's the neutral colors.] The project is inspired by the blanket of Miss Harlot [she's making a Log Cabin blanket] and BrooklynTweed's blanket. I'm like, "I'll make a middle garter square biased for interest, and then I'll make garter rectangles spiraling around it. It's brilliant brilliant brilliant I tell you! Genius!"
Sorry, I have a liking for Emperor's New Groove. *sweatdrop*
Anywho, the main difficulty for me is how many stitches I should pick up on the side. I think it is one per row, but then I have to frog back because it puckers the fabric and makes it look ugly. Two per row makes it a bit too baggy for the entire fabric, ergo more frogging.
The original pattern had four of the bias squares connected by strips, but it was a terrible disaster. Had to frog back most of the thing [no way I was going to call it a blanket] and keep the nicer looking square [the other one was so distorted; I didn't know what caused it]. Now I'm stuck on this problem. Drat.
Still, I'm not deterred. I will keep this up until I'm tired of it or until I get distracted with -- Oooh, shiney! *runs off*

Since I have a widescreen monitor now, I've taken into the habit of making a good number of my artworks into widescreen wallpapers. I took several of my favorites and sent the file over to DA for everyone else to use and distribute. Feel free to do the same. :D

And I've brought t-shirts for everyone!

The new living room, with tiled floor and painted walls. Mom went adventurous and chose a neutral green that is going good with everything and very flattering with the furniture.

A pic of my new compy, playing with the Electric Sheep screensaver. Since the new compy can actually handle it now, it's now the screensaver, which is already doing strange and interesting Sheep.
Did I mention my music collection's 58.41gigs? And steadily increasing? >.>

A close-up of the mug in the other photo, which was a souvener[sp?] from Diana from the trip she, Cris, and the kids took to Corpus Christi Tuesday. She says they got them very cheaply. Why she couldn't find a yarn shop and gotten some yarn?

I'm currently at the local Best Western, two blocks away from home, enjoying the free wi-fi that the place has. And the breakfast.
The house [living room and hall] is a boggling shade of green, which is something, seeing that we lived with white walls for all of the house's existance.
That's all for now.

- At the moment, I'm helping Mom out to clear out the living room. Reason? Gonna replace the carpet with tile.
- On that point, that means that I will be afc [away from computer] until Thursday or so. Could be wrong though, but I don't think so.
- After the tooth episode, I went to another doc to check on my gallbladder. She sent me to another doc who basically said that it needs to be removed, and as quickly as possible. The day of surgery is on the 31 of this month.
- Everyone except us two are in Corpus Christie at the moment. I would have went along, but I had my appointment.
- Sam is getting hooked into Steely Dan by the most unorthadox way: Rockstar. He can do a passible 'My Old School' and a terrible 'Bodhisattva'. And he has all of their albums on his 'Pod. And getting confused over the meaning of Babylon Sisters.
- The computer is so quiet that Mom has difficulty knowing if it is on or not. "The comp is on!" No Mom, that's the ceiling fan.
- My latest knitting project is a lap blanket. Or a baby blanket. I really don't know. I have to check after it's blocked.
- I'm in need of belly rubs.
- For those not in the know, I shall direct you here, then for a different pace, here. Whoo!
- It's still the ceiling fan, Mom!

I can be quite sure that some scenes were created due to this:
I am quite quite sure that there was another video that had this pulp fiction comic feel, all in blue. Hmph.

He went off like a shot. The Bull seemed almost eager to follow the request.
"What did you tell him?" I said, stretching out of the chair.
"I told him that he'd have a chocolate shake if he cleans up the kitchen a bit."
"Oh you're evil."
Mike sat down and gingerly sipped his drink. "For all their techs, I am still amazed to find they didn't know what chocolate was until they came here."
"According to V'mæx, their land was mostly desert after their war. He mentioned something about some destroyer wrecking havok all over the lands."
"Insane. I hope this world doesn't be like theirs."
"Like a world filled with technologically advanced nine foot musclebuilt guys?"
We both lose ourselves in thought.
"Y'know, that does't sound too shabby a deal."
"Ditto."

So today I had to get out of the house. The computer was getting on my nerves because there is nothing to do to it! No upgrades, no crazy installs, nothing to improve it. So I put on my shoes and left.
Apart from remarking how sparse the mall was [it was Sunday, it should have been packed!], I had a good time. I entertained myself by seeing who would fit in various literary character shoes ['Oh, that guy looks like Sam Vimes!' 'Oooh, a perfect Granny Weatherwax'] and catching up on comicbook storylines [ah, Wolverine has never looked hotter].
Then I want to the OG where I saw a dead ringer for
wooferstl, if he had a crewcut of silver-black hair and a clipped beard. Had a nice lesurely meal.
Afterwards I just hung out at Wal-Mart, caught up in Devil May Care, a James Bond novel done in classic style. I was half-way done before I was summoned outside to be picked up. I should have bought it. :\

I'm really not in the mood for conversation at the moment.
I just wish that everyone could just do things for themselves for once. Please.
In other news, I found out last night that the previous hard drives were undamaged. I mined them for all of their worth, including the new musics, all of my fractal designs, movies, and other stuff. I don't know what to do with them now.
The old webcam is non-compatable with Vista *shakes fist* so I need to get a new one later on. Darnit.
Tomorrow's the 4th. Meh. There's a festival over at the resaca, and I'll try to take photos.

Lurking in the depths of my cd/dvd collection are things that I forgot I ever had.
Like all of the colored Sinfest strips I ever did.
Like the entire run of the Class Menagerie comics, listed by month and year.
Like really old photos of Dad celebrating his birthday, along with tiger pinata.
Like the entire fourth season of Ranma 1/2.
Still finding music. The amount now is 46.8 gigs, a good 25 days of nonstop musics.

So I have been putting in all of my musical collection [on both cds and dvds] and finding out that it is probably a bit less than fifty gigs. I'm somewhat surprised because I always thought it was more than that. I need more music! Give me suggestions! Give me stuff that I might like! Whoo!

So far, nothing wrong. The computer is softly humming, but I really really need to clean up the room. Something this new shouldn't really be in such a messy room. :|
I have a compy! Wheeee! No more mooching off of Mom and Cris. Wheeee...!
Apparently the delivery guy was so caught up with other deliveries that he did't have time to deliver ours until around six. Mom saw me set it up [she said that the fan is louder than the comp *lol*] and I'm wowed. Indeed.
The old computer, after seeing how burned it was [the whole motherboard had streaks of black when I took it apart, was salvaged: the working parts are in anti-static bags [the vid card, soundcard, the hard drives] and the rest was just tossed into the garbage. I know that this is a bit extreme, but I honestly had no room to put it. The closet is filled with the kids blankets and the room is covered again with bric-a-brac. The garage has no flat surfaces for it, seeing that most of it is covered with boxes and bags. So, after saying a few choice words of service, I put it in the bin.
The monitor is too bright! Any way of fixing this? *adjusts brightness* >.>
Already I installed Firefox, iTunes, MSNMesseger and YMessenger. I need Skype, drivers for the webcam, mIRC, UF, Apo, and a whole slew of other things. Not to mention Doc's HD and the HD that I got from NewEgg. And to see if the salvaged stuff can be put in there also. Hmm...
However, the speakers sound awfully bad, so I'm staying with my own. Whoo!
