Last comic is today. I will miss it.

At least the comicker [is that even a word?] has another one he'll probably be doing. I'm keeping that one open to any other spots.

So, farewell good comic. 'Twas fun while it lasted, but all good things must come to an end...

Some hot oil landed in my face and hurt like the dickens.

But the roast is in the oven, gently cooking while I rest my hands from doing the dishes. A cold front came in while I was doing it and had to wait outside for a while waiting for mail.

So, how's you? Everything is fine really. *sigh* No, it's not. It's grey. Not getting it. According to them, that letter of refusal I wrote back counted as defiance, and it counted against me. So nothing from that avenue.

MFF is planned with little hitches. Bus fare's been paid, registration's done for, the room rented. Of course, the job loss was a huge hitch, but I sailed past it.

And I think that's it...

She's already seen me knit at it, but hasn't given it a good hard look. She's loving the color, and I'm liking the pattern. There have been a few mistakes, but other than that, it's smooth sailing.

One question that does strike me is this: How longer do I have to go?! *chuckles*

I'm making another needlepoint box, this time with some Ebay-bought yarn [it's in Sports wieght], and it goes well with the canvas. <lj:music>Yes: Yours Is No Disgrace</lj:music>

It's too early! Too early dangit!

So, my birthday wasn't without it's shocks. Although I got plenty of wishes on Facebook [thanks you guys! *hugs/snugs/kittens*], Mom had this wild idea to clean the dining room and I took the liberty to clean some of the kitchen. Which was alright, because of the dinner she made [steak, baked 'tatoes, salad, mac&cheese]. I was feeling terribly pissed off [because I didn't go or do anything] but it went away after I made my birthday cake.

It has been a traditional thing that I always make my birthday cake [it was also established that I used to make everyone else's birthday cake], and this year was no exception. Using the cake recipe I found earlier, with Hershey's Special Dark cocoa, I also made the frosting. And it just came out so nummy...

Of course, it does go well with a handmade tart cherry sauce [was supposed to be filling, but just didn't thicken properly. hm.]. But it was just too much chocolate! I couldn't finish it, that's how much it was. And this was after I cut down the amount of cocoa in the recipe! [called for nine tablespoons, used six].

Mom also made her Party Punch, which made things extra lively, and with the kids giving me birthday cards, well, it really made my perked up my spirits.

Tonight, Cris is taking me to the local OG, along with friends, for a celebration of our own. We might go out drinking after that. Might.

I have a confession to make.

Throughout the years, I have gotten hooked onto the rapper Del the Funky Homosapien. He's my guilty pleasure.

First found with the first Gorillaz album, I got hooked with his style. Afterwards, I found a few songs from the "I Wish My Brother George Was Here" album. Then I was[/am] totally addicted with "Deltron 3030".

Now I'm listening to his latest album via his website and I can't help but enjoy it. I'm getting it. It'll throw everyone off. :D
